“The images shown here were collected over several years of commuting within the beautiful and gritty city of Berlin. The places I saw are usually busy, loud and dirty but also vibrant, alive and exciting. What I wanted to capture was a certain empty essence, a quality of nothingness and transience. There is a calm sadness in these images but also an invitation to imagine the other places people go to or come from. Home, work, shopping, friends and lovers. They are all connected through the places in this book.”
